Seven for Sunday; SOVasaurs edition

Better late than never or something. I present to you seven tracks from Lady Sovereign. I may be a bit obsessed with her. But fuck it. I love her beats and her rhymes make me laugh. She takes a bit getting used to since she raps fast and is English. And I enjoy the fact she is normal and isn't like other female "rappers" who talk about Louis Vuitton this and how many guys they have fucked. Currently, Sov is one of few positive females in hip hop.

Hoodie (Spank Rock remix) by Lady Sovereign
I find this version to be much superior than the one off her debut album, Public Warning. This remix was on the free EP from Adult Swim.

Public Warning by Lady Sov
It's her motherfucking call to arms.

Love Me or Hate Me by Lady Sov
If drunk, I would probably do my best Sov impersonation. And most likely fail.

9 to 5 by Lady Sov
paying homage to Dolly Parton, perhaps?

Random by Lady Sov
"Oh shit my word play's nasty/oh shit, don't put it past me"

Chi Ching by Lady Sov
The first time I heard this, I had no fucking clue what she was saying.

My England by Lady Sov
Who name checks Oliver Twist? Seriously...

Sample Plate; Kanye West

Some people just don't like Kanye. Which I can understand at times because sometimes hip hop doesn't do it for people. Or they don't think Kanye qualifies as hip hop, because he is first a producer.

Now, there people need to remember that this is what Puff Daddy did. Like before numerous name changes. And I think Kanye is certainly much better than Puff. At least Kanye did not fuck Led Zep into the ground.

Enjoy my 3 favorite tracks.

Stronger by Kanye West
I do think he used Daft Punk to their full here.

The New Work Out Plan by Kanye West
I always wanna tell people with bad breath to "cover their mouth like you got SARS."

Touch the Sky by Kanye West
I didn't know this was a sample until I heard the song before the credits in Bend It Like Beckham

Seven for Sunday; Love My (New) Wave mix.

Never Say Never by Romeo Void

Take On Me by A Ha

If You Leave by OMD

How Soon Is Now by the Smiths

Space Age Love Song by A Flock of Seagulls

Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds

Tainted Love by Soft Cell

Still working on organizing this folder. This is the first of what I hope to be a regular posting, Seven for Sunday. Seven tracks that I hope somehow go together. and if you don't think so, obviously you just don't get it. No, I am not that much of a cunt.

Did you people want me to provide some sort of witticisms for each track? Are you ok without them?

Help me make this not suck.
This is the start of something wonderful.
